Taken at colchester zoo in the spring, the RAW file was re-visited a while ago and I realised that this photo was begging for a caption.
You have to bear in mind that I was working my notice whan this was edited, and had just taken a random day off sick with nothing special to do…..
Been a long time. Haven’t I used the nifty fifty since the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 arrived in the kit bag, so now making a conscious effort to use it more.
Didn’t really get out much further than the back garden so ended up taking another one of the dog. Pensive look from Daisy in this one which was hand held at f1.8 with a shutter speed of 1/30 at iso 1600
Imagine if you will an application that will allow you to control your Canon DSLR remotely using wireless networking.¬† I’m not talking about a wireless shutter release, I’m talking about Canon’s EOS Utility, available on your iPhone, to control a tethered camera from a completely different room (not sure why you’d really want to do this though).¬† It’s not the future, it’s been around for a while, but not content with it working as designed in the first place, the guys designing the software have now released a new version.
I saw this once before, but then my iPhone broke a little bit.  Actually, it broke quite a lot. Subsequent drama ensued when O2 (bless their cotton socks) refused to pay for it to be fixed, despite it only being a month or so outside of the 12 month warranty, and with 5 months remaining on my iPhone contract.
That aside, I now have a new job, and a new iPhone – Once I’ve checked the corporate policy regarding “suitable” applications for both the laptop and phone, I may well be giving this a whirl.
If you are a regular visitor, you will know that the old site got battered by delinquent Geeks somewhere in Timbuctoo, and was closed down to stop it spreading malicious code around the planet. You may also remember that the whole thing was exceedingly ugly and needed a re-write anyway. Given that it was initially set up to document the restoration of a 1972 Triumph Spitfire (which never happened) there were a lot of hits on the site that must have felt cheated. This time, it’s (hopefully) more relevant.
I will of course try and recover some of the more amusing posts from the old blog for the sake of posterity but generally speaking, it’s sensible and grown up (ish) hereafter.
Thanks for visiting, and please bookmark me as there will be regular updates.
