Another wonderfully damp day in drought stricken Essex. Since the water companies announced a hosepipe ban, I don’t think that there’s been a single 24 hour period without rain. Half of Essex and Suffolk are currently underwater and the view from the window is becoming depressingly familiar.
Morning Glory
Early Autumn Mornings just can’t be beaten, especially when at six o’clock it’s already 18 degrees with a promise of record breaking sunshine. The heat creating a lovely ground hugging mist, coating everything in tiny droplets of water.
This cobweb, was captured with a Canon 50mm f1.8 and 30mm of Kenko Macro extension tubes.
Misty footpath – Atmospheric Black and White images
There’s something a bit special about an early Autumn morning when the blossoming day is set to be an unusually hot one. Being by the riverside, the cool evening dew had begun to be heated by the sun. Quite thick in places, I could have been totally alone, a thousand miles from anywhere as I had a wander along the footpath.
Scottish Activist Hedgehog in Squatting shocker……….
Having found the hard way just how sharp a hedgehog’s spines are I managed to evict this creature from the caravan awning at the weekend and set him free in a more natural environment with a belly full of dog food.
It was only after he’d gone that I realised my unwelcome guest had defecated on my Union Jack leading me to suspect that he was a Scottish ctivist hedgehog with radical political views
What a difference a Dave makes………
Been messing around with different editing actions and techniques this week (as you may have noticed). One from the weekend’s visit to Burnham on Crouch, messed with, butchered and murdered in three different ways
First Up, a Dual Colour split tone process
Next – A more traditional black and white conversion, with different crop.
Finally – An ‘Antique’ Tint and vignette – Keep coming back to this one, but not at all sure why it appeals so much.
All of these were taken or more specifically snapped, by a bench by the River Crouch, just along the footpath beyond the sailing club, atop an old pill box thingy at Burnham-on-Crouch.
Was too windy to sit there for long, but gave me another shot to experiment with. Keep going back to the ‘antique’ look at the moment, hopefully it’s just a phase. Otherwise, not sure which of these three works best.
