I’ve had the app and the dongle for a while and other than some time lapse vids of the journey home from work I’ve never actually used it. This week I finally got round to purchasing a 2.5mm to 3.5 mm cable so I can use it to trigger the flash instead of the camera and subsequently started thinking about what I could use it for.
These were a hastily set up test session to try and get the setting for the ‘Bang’ trigger to work – Had a few issues initially whereupon the camera kept snapping away after the noise but after a few tweaks I think I got it sorted. I know that these are a bit rough round the edges, but as test shots I’m quite happy with them. All I need to do now is set something up properly with a decent background (not the shiny sink), replace water with milk (or cream) and swap out the smelly pickled onion for something a little more attractive……
Whilst out in the garden I was surprised to find this. Surprised mostly because our garden is utterly devoid of Flora with the exception of our neighbours Ivy and some weedy grass. No idea what kind of flower it is and never have I seen one like it before. The Stamen are shaped like some sort of Alien Helicopter and the flies seem to like it, as do the gnats. Otherwise it was just there, on it’s own
Recorded for posterity with the Tamron 17-50 F2.8 with a 12mm Kenko Extention tube attached.
Fairly sure you shouldn’t play with fireworks indoors but it was raining. Only had two that I found in a cupboard earlier, and they must have been really old as they fizzed rather than sparkled.
Net result was that I managed to balls up the exposure (they were seriously underexposed) so any editing has seriously degraded the IQ. Tried something different on this one – Created loads of layers and rotated each one a bit…… Might work for star trails but not so good with sparklers indoors…….
A wintery morning with not much else to do in Suffolk found us enjoying a somewhat brisk stroll along the beach followed by Tea on the pier. Was surprisingly busy considering the frigid breeze
The Essex countryside, particularly on the Dengie Peninsular never fails to surprise me with the quality of the light at times. Despite having not much to do I couldn’t resist a couple of shots of Tommy doing his best to look moody on the banks of the Blackwater on Sunday evening…… Immediately prior to this I was shooting some landscape shots and still had a 2 stop graduated ND filter attached, so the net result here is pretty much straight out of the camera. There’s a bit of a WB Issue, but with some tweaks I’m fairly sure that it’s a keeper…..
More extension tube attempts ended up in the bin this lunchtime. Had plenty of flowery thingies from in the garden, and a couple of things I found laying about indoors.¬† Not the greatest shot in the world, though with the flash off camera¬† I think I’ve got the Depth of Field issues sorted now !
Was going to try a couple of additional ones of this, bouncing the flash to eliminate some of the shadows. Unfortunately, I ate it instead.
Why is it you can never find a snail or a spider when you need one?
